Complex conjugate
From Maths
Definition
Given a complex number, [ilmath]z\in\mathbb{C} [/ilmath] where [ilmath]z=a+bj[/ilmath] and [ilmath]j[/ilmath] denotes [ilmath]\sqrt{-1} [/ilmath] the complex conjugate of [ilmath]z[/ilmath], denoted:
- [ilmath]z^*[/ilmath] (how I was taught at A-level)
- [ilmath]\bar{z} [/ilmath] (what I prefer)
is defined as: [ilmath]z^*=\bar{z}:=a-bj[/ilmath]
